BRIEF SURVEY
The conference CryoPrague 2006 takes place
July 17 – 21, 2006 in Praha, Czech Republic
Cryogenics
is a branch of science and technology which deals with problems of processes
and equipment at temperatures lower than 120 K.
This includes the range of liquid methane,
oxygen, argon, hydrogen, helium and other cryogenic gases, as well as specific
behaviour of solid materials at these temperatures. Further, processes and
devices for achieving temperatures close to absolute zero, important for
research in physics, superconductivity and its application to magnetic devices
are also included. Application of low temperatures and liquefied gases in
industry, science, medicine and many other domains of human life bring new
impulses and achievements every year.
Organizing committees of three international
conferences dealing with problems of cryogenics:
ICEC,
held every second year, usually alternating between Europe
and other parts of the world,
ICMC,
held every year, alternating between USA
(in conjunction with the US
conference CEC) and other parts of the world
and CRYOGENICS,
an IIR International conference, held every second year in Prague and attracting participants mostly from Europe but also from other parts of the world
decided to join their efforts and to hold their
conferences together in Prague
under the sheltering name CryoPrague 2006.
This makes it possible for participants from
many parts of the world to attend all three events in one trip and to meet new
colleagues and gain new perspectives. We believe that this unique event will
lead to further progress in cryogenic science and technology.

General rules
IMPORTANT: For the transport of massive exhibits there is a possibility to use a goods lift. Its
loading capacity is 5 tons, the maximum width of the lift door is 2 m,
length of the lift is 4.9 m and its height is 2.4 m. Pay attention to the
width of the lift door, this an essential limiting factor, the maximum
width is really only 2 m! The next “barrier” is a glass door
(width 172 cm and height 200 cm).In the case that the exhibitor would like
to transport goods to his exhibition stand independently, it will be
necessary to secure a service of a lift operator for the requested time.
This complex service (lift operators, transport of goods, handcarts,
etc.), which, however, has to be paid separately, is secured by BECK Spedition, phone: +420 602 311 950, phone/fax: +420
286 881 730 E-mail: beck.pavel@volny.cz . We suggest to contact this company sufficiently
early before the transport takes place.
All members of the exhibition staff are asked to be
registered in the Exhibition registration form.
Exhibition fee entitles an exhibitor to one free
conference fee (free entrance to the lecture halls of three conferences,
printed conference materials and conference dinner). Simultaneously, this exhibitor has to complete theConference
registration form.
All additional stand personnel are asked to fill up the
Conference registration form, too, and to pay the accompanying person’s
fee (3
000 CZK).
Coffee break refreshments are free for all operating
personnel of stands.
The price of an additional conference dinner (e.g. for
the exhibition staff) is 1 300 CZK (Mark out in the Conference
registration form).
ICARIS Ltd. is not responsible for assisting the
exhibitor in obtaining passport and visa (in the case they are required)
for entrance into the CzechRepublic as well as
for customs formalities. The fact that the exhibitor is unsuccessful in
obtaining these documents from the appropriate government authorities will
not constitute a basis for cancellation if this application/contract and
it is clearly understood that no refunds whatsoever will be made, except
as stated below. An “invitation visa support letter” will be
sent on request.
Equipment and all related display materials installed
by exhibitors are not insured by the organizer, and
they will under no circumstances be liable for any loss, damage or
destruction caused to equipment, goods or property belonging to
exhibitors. The organizers are not responsible for any loss, damage or
delay incurred in freight shipments into or out of the CzechRepublic.
An overnight security service will be provided.
Exhibitors are responsible for the cost and execution
of the design, installation and delivery of their display to and its
removal from the exhibition site.
In case of cancellation received in writing up to July 3, 2006, 90% of
the total charge will be refunded, providing that the space can be
reassigned.
An exhibition plan will be available on the conference
web page approximately one month before the beginning of the conference. The
plan will be prepared on the basis of already registered exhibitors, their
exhibition area they have ordered and according their wishes, e.g. on
“neighbouring” exhibitors. An optimal interplay between the
accommodation of the final number of all exhibitors and the overall exhibition
area will be secured.

Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic,
is a city of rich history extending over eleven centuries. It has been
acclaimed since ancient times, not only because of its beauty, but also
because of its “genius-loci”. Its unique atmosphere stems not only from its
location on the hilly banks of the river Vltava but also from a blend of
architectural styles like Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Art Nouveau
and Cubist architecture up to contemporary styles.
The
unforgettable atmosphere of the historic city centre dominated by the PragueCastle
and the Charles’ Bridge has been enchanting every visitor. In 1992 the
historical core of the city covering 866 hectares was listed in the UNESCO
World Cultural and Natural Heritage Register. Publicly accessible churches,
museums and galleries can satisfy visitors keen on history.
Prague has played an important role in the history of the
nation, the country and the whole Europe.
Today, the city with more than 1 million inhabitants is an important centre of
business, finance, industrial, educational and cultural activities. Prague

The historical building is situated at one of the most famous
Prague town centre squares "Karlovo námìstí". From its windows
several of Wenceslas IV's Catholic councillors were flung out to their deaths
in 1419 by followers of the Hussite preacher Jan Zelivsky. Thus the expression "defenestration"
(throwing out of the window) received a new meaning and Czechs a new
“political” tactic.
