PAPERS AND PROCEEDINGS

Papers will be published in Proceedings as a part of the Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids. Each participant will receive one set of Proceedings after the conference.

PREPARATION OF PAPERS

How to estimate the length of your paper

There are allocated 10 printed pages for invited papers and 6 printed pages for contributed papers. In order to have a measure how to estimate the length of your manuscript which should correspond to the given extent of printed pages, we have inquired Gary Anderton, the Journal Manager of the J. of Non-Cryst. Solids. We have received the following information:

Generally, TWO A4  pages of text (double line spacing without figures) will convert to ONE typeset page including figures.

Therefore an invited paper with a length of 10 printed pages will be formed by 20 A4 pages of text (double line spacing) and e.g. 6 figures supplied on other pages.

A contributed paper with a length of 6 printed pages will be formed by 12 A4 pages of text (double line spacing) and e.g. 4 figures supplied on other pages.

Time table and dead lines

1) All papers should be handed over in electronic form (on a CD Rom) and in 3 printed paper versions at the Proceedings Desk on Monday, September 18, 2006, i.e. on the first day of the conference. Distribution of collected papers to reviewers follows immediately

2) Collection of reviewed papers and their re-distribution to authors for corrections according the reviewer’s remarks until October 30, 2006.

3) Authors have time to realize corrections and improvements according the review and have to return the revised papers into the ICARIS office until November 20, 2006 at the latest!

Papers, which will not arrive to the ICARIS office at this deadline will not be published in the Proceedings, because the deadline of delivery of the complete refereed Proceedings manuscripts to the Offices of Elsevier Log-In Department is December 15, 2006.

Important notice

We really will insist on an absolute (no excuses accepted) keeping of all deadlines for manuscript submission and editing. All post-deadline papers will be submitted to JNCS as regular papers (but with a note that they were submitted originally to NCM10).

Classification codes/keywords

Please supply one to four classification codes (PACS and/or MSC) that describe the content of your article in more detail.

During consideration and after acceptance

Notification. All notifications as to your paper's current status and the Journal Editor's decisions (including acknowledgement, revisions, acceptance, proofs, etc.) will be done by e-mail.

Copyright transfer. In the course of the production process you will be asked to transfer the copyright of the article to the publisher. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information.

IMPORTANT: When page proofs of the accepted manuscript are made and sent to authors, this is in order to check that no undetected errors have arisen in the typesetting (or file conversion) process. Only printers' errors may be corrected; no changes in, or additions to, the edited manuscript will be accepted. In the case of extended changes, the authors will be required to pay part of the extra costs involved. Please note that no deviations from the version accepted by the Editor of the journal are permissible without the prior and explicit approval of the Editor. Such changes should be clearly indicated in your response to Elsevier.

ABSTRACTS

Abstract are still accepted, however they will be presented only as a poster. On-line editing is not more possible.

The last possibility to submit your abstract is July 31, 2006 !

The abstract should fit in a frame 160 mm wide and 225 mm high. You achieve these dimensions with an A4 paper when you set left and right margins 25 mm, the upper margin 40 mm and the bottom margin 32 mm. Use Times Roman fonts 12 points large.

It is very important that you indicate left on the first line preceding the title the Scope number (numbers) from the Scope list, you think that the paper should fit best. On the same line right write ORAL or POSTER according your idea of presentation of the paper.

An Abstracts Booklet of submitted papers will be handed to the participants of the conference at their registration.

Please note the following example of the abstract preparation:

MA14, TO3                                                                                                                    POSTER

ABSTRACT OF A PAPER PRESENTED AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE STRUCTURE OF NON-CRYSTALLINE MATERIALS

George Paper, William K. Subject

12345 Uppertown, Antarctic Republic

Francis B. Reprint

Faculty of Materials Research, Boolian State University, 543 21 Lowertown,

Cherry Island 35791, Holmes Federal Kingdom

Do not forget to write the scope number from the Scope list (see section “Scope”) left on the very first line preceding the abstract title and on the same line right write ORAL or POSTER according your idea of presentation of the paper! The title must not be longer than 200 characters including space between words. Use Times Roman fonts 12 points large and single line spacing. Take in account that the abstract must be in its final form and of good appearance. It will be printed directly without any further editing. Take in account that a 0.75 reduction will be applied in order to prepare the Abstract book in A5 format. Leave 40 mm at the top and 32 mm at the bottom, further leave 25 mm for the left and right margin. Hence the text should be in a frame 160 mm wide and 225 mm high. Please check this carefully! Underline the name of the presenting author.

The deadline for the on-line abstract submission is April 15, 206. This is also the dead-line for the possibility to edit your abstract on-line.

The Local Organizing Committee will review all submitted abstracts for quality, originality and relevance. The Committee reserves the right to select papers and divide them into oral and poster sessions on the basis of abstracts.

At least one author of each paper must be available to present it at the conference as a lecture or poster.

An Abstracts Booklet of submitted papers will be handed to the participants of the conference at their registration.

Following the experience from other conferences the on-line submission of abstracts in their final form after April 15, 2006 will be still possible; however, the probability that they will be put on the programme as an oral presentation is then extremely low.
