THE CONCERT will take place in the Klementinum´s Mirror Chapel (Zrcadlova kaple) on Tuesday evening, September 19, 2006, from 20:00. You can use the entrance from Karlova Street 1 or Mariánské Square, Praha 1.

The chapel consecrated to the Annunciation of our Lady was built after 1720. Its harmonious decoration - where the marbled walls and floors are well-matched with its gilded stucco ornamentation, with parget colours and ceiling frescoes, with the final touch of a mirror-decorated ceiling - make it a unique sight. The fresco was created by Jan Hiebl, each of the ceiling bands illustrates a verse of the Hail Mary prayer. The mural paintings with themes from the life of Virgin Mary were created by Václav Vavřinec Reiner. The Mirror Chapel is the only historic building of Klementinum open to public during the concerts held there.

The famous Prague Chamber Orchestra Virtuosi Pragenses will perform works by

Josef Mysliveček “Il divino Boemo” (1737 - 1781): Sinfonia in Es,

Henry Purcell (1659 - 1695): Suit for strings “Gordic knot”,

W. Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791): Concert No.2 in D-Major,

J. Václav Stamic (1717 - 1757): Orchestral quartet and

The chamber orchestra Virtuosi Pragenses was founded by the eminent Czech violin virtuoso and conductor Libor Hlaváček in 1970. The members of this renowned musical body are eminent Prague musicians. The revues appreciate their sense of music, the cultivated sound and precise performance of the compositions. CONFERENCE DINNER will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2006 at 19:30 in the restaurant "U Kalicha" (The Goblet), Praha 2, Na Bojišti 12-14.
This gastronomic oasis and the meeting place of fine tasters from all over the whole world didn't always look so romantic as it does today. The concept "Restaurant 'The Goblet' " first became a focal point of international attention after the translation of "The Good Soldier Švejk" (The author: Jaroslav Hašek) into German and the opening of the theatre performance of this work on the stage of the world famous Piscator theatre at Nollendorfplatz in Berlin in the year 1927. The restaurant conceals legends but also historic truths. Typical Czech dishes and drinks will be served during the dinner.
The dinner is not included in the fee, the price is 1.500 CZK.
